Sinuses Allergies - Coconut Oil

I used to have Asthma so I was very sensitive to breathing issues.  I would always get seasonal allergies, itchy eyes, scratchy throat, and a stuffy nose.  I would breathe through my mouth while sleeping and wake up with a sneezing attack trying to clear the sinuses.

I then found a natural cure with using Coconut oil. Coconut oil is an antifungal, antibacterial, and a great moisturizer which can accelerate healing.  While working several years in a manufacturing environment and during the pandemic, I started to swab my nostrils with coconut oil thinking it was a great moisturizer and an antibacterial/antifungal.  My thinking is that everything enters the body/bloodstream through the sinuses, and if we can provide a protective barrier we can eliminate many of these health issues. I was fortunate to not experience any health issues during the pandemic while working in the plant every day.

Now that I've been using coconut oil for several years I no longer get seasonal allergies, gone is my scratchy throat and itchy eyes.  I breathe through my nose while sleeping and most importantly am rarely sick.  Coconut oil is inexpensive and by simply swabbing your nostrils regularly you can see a big improvement in your health and quality of life.

Give it a try and see if it works for you.

Allergies and Cocunut Oil

Spring has sprung!  Trees are in bloom and grass is growing.  This beautiful time of the year is dreaded by million due to allergies.  And after being a long time sufferer of allergies and mouth breathing, I stumbled on an incredible discovery. To state it simply Coconut oil.

For years I wore contact lenses and during allergy season would literally rub my itchy eyes until my contacts came out.  Side note if I didn't have my contact case, I would just put my contacts in my mouth.

Coconut oil is an antifungal and antibacterial substance due to its high concentration of lauric acid. After learning that coconut oil is a good natural moisturizer and can help heal cuts and scrapes while again providing bacterial infection protection...poetic eh, I decided to try just using the oil in my nostrils. I simply swipe a dab in each nostril of my nose.

I have been doing this for years now and my experience has been incredible. One litmus test is that during the Covid years I worked in a manufacturing facility and had to work  onsite daily in a closed environment. And while various coworkers went out with illness including most employees at the plant, I was able to work throughout without any sickness or missed time.

My thinking is that most pathogens come in through the sinuses and the coconut oil acts as a barrier keeping out the bad guys. I've also had a similar experience with my allergies and breathing.  I would regularly wake up after a night under the ceiling fan and sneeze four or five times and have a scratchy throat and itchy eyes, and of course this was exaggerated during allergy season in the spring and fall.

Coconut oil has helped clear all these issues.  I'm able to breathe through my mouth while sleeping, I wake up without the sneezing or itchy eyes. And the ironic thing is our son wakes up sneezing every morning.  I just yell coconut oil!

The great thing about coconut oil is that it is natural and inexpensive.  Give it a try and be patient it could be just what the doctor ordered.

Allergies - Cocunut Oil & Local Honey

Coconut Oil & Raw Honey - Allergies

It's that time of year again on the Eastern Coast of the United States, Spring is springing! For all you allergy sufferers out there, there is hope and a natural way to help beat the pollen. Many people have used saline nasal rinses with success, but few know about the power of coconut oil and local raw honey.

Coconut oil is an anti fungal and antibacterial.  Simply swabbing your nostrils with coconut oil will help with your allergies and stuffiness, try also massaging around your eyes since it makes a great moisturizer.

Local raw honey is also supposed to help with the pollen.  Trying adding some to your diet, it's an excellent substitute for sugar and is packed with good nutrition. The thinking goes that since the bees pollinate the flowers and make the honey, that the local raw honey (unheated) acts as a antidote to the pollen. The honey should be local since it's made by the same bee that are pollinating your flower.

So next time you want to reach for those allergy pills, stop and try a $5 jar of coconut oil and a good jar of local raw honey.

The Power of Coconut Oil - Allergies

Coconut Oil

I like millions of other usually have seasonal allergies with the sneezing and congestion.  The tree pollen blows in the air leaving a thick coat of green dust everywhere.  I started using coconut oil this past year by eating it and using it as a skin moisturizer.

Coconut oil is an anti-fungal and antibacterial, so it kills germs and prevents bacteria.  I apply the oil to my eyes, in my nostrils, and other parts of the body.  This season when you can see the green dust floating in the air, I haven't had a sneeze or scratchy throat.

I use the Trader Joe's coconut oil and prefer it in its solid form, it goes for around $6.  At warm temperatures, the oil will liquify.

Do a little research on coconut oil and give it a try for your allergies.

Coconut oil the power food.

Allergies - Honey

Honey - Allergies

Pollen the main cause of spring time allergies is spread by the honey bee.  So the thinking goes, that an antidote to the allergen pollen is honey from the bee.  Honey is a natural sweetener and has many other health benefits.

Since the flowers are pollinated by the bees, the honey from the bee counteracts the allergies.  The honey should be raw and local.

I have noticed an improvement in my allergies since starting the honey regimen.  Try local raw honey and see if it works for you. Keep using the raw honey and give it time to work.

A natural remedy that replaces the chemical alternatives.
