The Power of Gentleness

Jesus said, "Learn of me for I am meek and humble of heart."  St. Francis De Sales, the Gentleman Saint, said, Nothing is so strong as gentleness, nothing so gentle as real strength.

The soft water conquers the hardest granite and mightiest mountain.

We should all try to add a little more gentleness in our lives.

You Tube

 You Tube

How wonderful is You Tube where you can learn any skill or perform any task with a Community that is always willing to help.  I'm astounded by the generosity of others and their willingness to use their valuable time to help "strangers" with a given task.

You can learn guitar, another language, gardening, automotive, landscaping, golf lessons, and academics.  You Tube really just organized a community of worldwide neighbors willing to share their talents.  Simple yet Genius!

I think it goes to the salient important point that we really are an ecosystem of fellow human beings willing to help each other achieve even the most mundane task.  We have this inherent generosity infused in our very essence.

I met a wonderful gentleman Gerald from Georgia who assisted me with building my 48" aerator.  He saved me another hour at least.  I'm amazed and inspired by the goodness of others.  I'm also humbled and filled with gratitude that we are surrounded by others that are determined to build a better life for themselves, their families, and the world we inhabit.

When we all share out talents even those we think as insignificant we advance all of us in one giant leap.

We each can be the Light of the World in our own small way.  And the light of billion flickers can set the Universe ablaze.

With Love and Gratitude,

How Do You See Yourself

What's Your Name

No, not the Lynyrd Skynrd song!

How do you see yourself?  What's your name.  Our labels are important, how we view ourselves is important to our self esteem.  How we see ourselves drives our behavior.

If you see yourself as an athlete, you exercise, eat right, and take care of your body and mind.  The important thing is not whether you are a world class athlete or simply a weekend warrior that walks in the park or plays with the grandkids.  The key is to give yourself an empowering label and let it help motivate and move you forward to a better you.

We all have strengths and weaknesses, and many of us wallow in the things we do wrong or compare ourselves unrealistically to the phony images we see in the media.

Choose a label that empowers and propels you forward.  Give yourself an inspiring title such as graduate, artist, professional, mom, dad, volunteer, inventor, author, philanthropist, or champion.  Again, cut yourself some slack and let your imagination run.

See yourself as the person you want to be, don't beat yourself up or get stuck with where you are now.

See yourself as the limitless, divine being, that has the ability to accomplish and achieve anything you want.

Start with your name and make it empowering.

The Whole World's Ablaze Your Passion

Set The World on Fire

"If you are what you should be, you will set the whole world on fire.  Let the truth be your delight, proclaim it, but with a certain congeniality".  What I like about this quote from St. Catherine of Siena is the gentle strength of the proclamation.  She reminds of us all of our hidden talents, our undiscovered power, our vast potential that when tapped has the power to change the world.

By simply acknowledging that each of us is special, and that when we utilize and share our unique talents we tap into that potential that ignites a passion in us. We have that inner and outer glow that people can see in our eyes.  She tells us that we can express and share our talents with a gentleness and kindness that opens a pathway to understanding.   Let the beauty of your work, your talent, and skill be the expression of achievement and excellence.

We can express ourselves with grace, dignity, and congeniality like Jesus, Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln, Mother Theresa, and countless others.  They all set the world on fire without firing a weapon or dropping a bomb.  You know what special talent you have that is aching come out and be shared for all of our benefit.  Bring it forth.

St. Catherine reminds us to, Do the thing, and it will give you power!

The Healing Power of Nature

Nature

Feeling stressed, sluggish, tired, run down, is your health not what you want it to be? Time to get outside.  Fresh air, sunlight, and nature can restore your health.  Simply walking in the woods among the trees can begin to heal and increase your energy levels.

I've run, walked, and jump roped for 40 years and this past year instead of the treadmill or jumping rope on the patio, I've made an effort to do more trail walking and running and I've notice a big change in my energy levels.  Exercise naturally raises your endorphin levels, those body chemicals, that make you feel good, the "runner's high".  When you combine exercise with the great outdoors, you have a simple prescription to wellness.

When you have an opportunity choose to exercise outdoors and get the added benefits of nature's beauty. Nature is your prescription for whatever ails you.
