Enlightenment - The Divine You

Enlightenment

Enlightenment.  What a wonderful word.  To enlighten means to educate, to make or become aware, or to understand. To Know.

What is Enlightenment? Beyond the Age of Reason, more importantly what is personal enlightenment?

Enlightenment is recognizing and acknowledging that YOU are a divine being.  That we are All diving beings.  Our divine nature is part of us for we were made in the image and likeness of God.  What is unique to all of us is the residing of our divine nature or soul within the sacred temple our human bodies. Similar to the Trinity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, when the mind, body, and soul are in harmony we are at peace.

Enlightenment is peace.  Peace with oneself, others, and the world.  We often experience it in glimpses, but with self awareness and prayer or asking, we can make peace a more extended or permanent part of life and daily living.  When we realize and recognize our own divine nature and live from that higher self we are transformed into our divine selves.

All fear and doubt is removed.  Our stresses melt away because we know that we are made in the image of God and we are loved. We are part of God.

We are all at times enlightened or in touch with our divinity in those moment of love, peace, and harmony. When we detach from the illusory material world, we are able to immerse ourselves and realize our divine nature.

Gently Down The Stream

Row Row Row

There's something to the song

Row Row Row
Your Boat
Gently Down
The Stream
Merrily Merrily Merrily
Life is
But a Dream

Translation.  Don't get too agitated by life's daily struggles, what bothered you last week or last year is a distant memory.  Stay in the moment and let the daily slings and arrows pass.

They have no power over you!

Stay above the childish and petty demands of the ego and seek the higher ground of the spirit grounded in love, kindness, charity, and forgiveness.

These higher vibrations are consistent with our Divine nature.

Easy does it will make the journey that more enjoyable.

With Love,

Coach K

The Power of Asking

Just Ask

The power of a simple question.  We learn early on as children to ask for what we want for what we need. But somehow as the years pass, we often lose sight of this simple concept.

We easily ask or expect things in our daily lives groceries, gas for the car, decent roads, functioning electrical grid, but when it comes to the bigger ideas in our lives such as love, peace, harmony, success, meaningful work, money, or wealth we often think we're not deserving or those things are meant for others.

No matter where you stand in life today whether your happy, sad, sick, or healthy begin today to ask for the things you want in life.  Prayer is just another form of asking.

Life is full of many wonderful things and things we don't need or want.  When we ask for more of the good things in life that expansion begins to crowd out the less desirable.

So ask, ask, and ask some more until the result you want is realized.

With Love,

Spiritual Principles for Joyful Living

A Joyful Life

How do we receive more joy in our lives, more peace, more love?

Simply we ask.

The bible and many other spiritual texts contain simple and effective advice to help us on our journey
  • Jesus says, "Ask and it shall be given unto you".  Many of us do ask or pray and when we allow our prayers to be answered in God's time everything is taken care of. Practice patience in all things.
  • Again,  "Ask and ye shall receive".  The concept of asking is ever present in our lives. We must simply ask. Write it down, mediate, pray, and reflect upon it.  And when it does happen simply say Thank You.  And if it doesn't or is delayed, perhaps it was not right for you at this moment in your life.  Again patience in all things.
  • I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me. We all need help every now and then, and it is here for us. All we have to do is ask.
  • Faith. With the faith of a mustard seed, which is very tiny, we can move mountains. Our everyday mountains are the challenges we may face in our daily living.  A little faith can overcome any obstacle and bring more peace into our lives.
  • Jesus said, "You can do all that I can do and more if you but believe". Belief in your ability and your potential is very powerful. Start with a belief in yourself, an no matter what happens treat yourself with respect and dignity.  Remember, we were made in the image of God. We are all infused with that divine light and energy. And if you have trouble loving and believing in yourself, find a mentor or friend that can help you. They are out there and love you just as you are. We are surrounded by angels that can assist us in everything we do.

Ghandi's Principles

Ghandi's Life Principles

Ghandi lived many of these principles throughout his life and dealt with the challenge and difficulty of trying to live them on a daily basis.  As we reflect on the principles, don't get so caught up on trying to live them, let the idea ruminate and see where it leads you.  Just being aware of them is a good first step.

  • Wealth Without Work.  It's good to earn you bread. There's something deeply satisfying in earning your own way dealing with the struggles and setbacks that makes attaining the goal all the more enjoyable. Hard work and dignity go hand-in-hand.  A little struggle does a body good.
  • Pleasure Without Conscience.  Pleasure with a total focus on oneself and a disregard for others is a path to trouble. We can experience pleasure, fun, and joy in a responsible harmonious manner.
  • Knowledge Without Character.  Using our knowledge to make life and the world better for ourselves, the community and the world is the idea.  To use our knowledge for noble means not just personal enrichment.
  • Commerce Without Morality.  Win lose is not the ideal proposition.  Some transactions are indeed one-sided, but those that have a Win/Win foundation and benefit each participant are those that help the individual, the community, and society flourish. Doing business involves many unintended consequences just like life, we just want to avoid the transactions that we know are bad from the start.
  • Science Without Humanity.  How wonderful and powerful science is with the tremendous benefits to mankind and the world. We always need to be mindful of the delicate balance of scientific advancement and impacts to society.
  • Religion Without Sacrifice. Religion has gotten quite a bad rap lately and while religion is a reflection of the actions of it's leaders and members, it is also a philosophy that allows us to explore a world beyond ourselves.  Life involves sacrifices. Friendship, parenting, working, playing sports involves sacrifices.  When we make sacrifices for the greater good, for accomplishing a higher goal than just our own we act from our highest selves.
  • Politics Without Principle.  Now this is a tough one.  Principles in politics! Tradeoffs and deals are part of the political landscape but a focus on the common good without knowing your not going to make everyone happy is always a challenge.  As Ghandi learned while trying to unite India.

The Water Pipeline - Droughts

Water Pipeline

We see these natural disasters will hurricanes and storms that dump several inches of rain while causing flooding and damage.

We have oil and natural gas pipelines that crisscross the country to carry oil and gas to all parts of the country.  Why not carry excess water to needed areas that can help deal with drought areas and provide needed water to crops and other non drinking applications.

We would create a system where there would be Rain collection and other excess water collection devices that would be activated when needed.  The water would then be stored and the transported via pipeline to other areas of the country.  Instead of siphoning water from certain stressed rivers, why not turn the destructive excess water into a positive problem solving solution.

We can solve the problem of droughts using our ingenuity and creativity.

All the Best,

The Jumpless Jump Rope

Jumpless Jump Rope

I been trying to get my bride of 25 years to jump rope without much success, but recently we discovered a new easy way to start jumping rope that doesn't require any expertise.

Introducing the new Jumpless Jump Rope.  Sounds complicated.  I stumbled across this new rope by wearing out a $2 Walmart vinyl rope right at the contact spot in the middle of the rope.  The rope broke in two, leaving two relatively equal pieces of vinyl rope.

I started jumping with the two broken pieces which still let me feel the whip and the rhythm of the rope but without the dexterity or coordination to physically skip over the rope.  I shared it with my bride and she was delighted that she could now effortlessly jump rope increasing her heart rate, improving her circulation, while improving her fitness. She was doing skips, one legged jumps, double jumps like a real pro, and when the smile came across her face I knew it was something that everyone could do.

For those of you that always wanted to jump rope and develop a boxer's fitness level give it a try.  Buy a $2 vinyl rope, adjust it to your height by knotting the rope at the handles and then cut it in half.

You know have a customized one-of-a-kind fitness juggernaut in your hands!

Now let's get to work!

To Your Health,

Coach K
