Champ Bridge - Johnny Miller

 Johnny Miller

Johnny Miller is a champion golfer whose father, Larry Otto Miller, always referred to him as "Champ" when teaching his son the game of golf.  Whatever shot his son hit, his Dad would always say, "nice shot or nice swing Champ".  Johnny would talk about the impact his Dad had on his life and the life of his children.  His father would always send encouraging notes to his grandchildren using his tagline "Champ" when encouraging them.

Johnny Miller would go on to win two major championships. The 1971 U.S. Open at Oakmont shooting a 63 in the final round beating Arnie Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Gary Player at one of the toughest courses in the world.  He would then go onto win the 1976 Open championship at Royal Birkdale shooting a final round 66 beating Jack Nicklaus and a 19 year old Seve Ballesteros.

Champ bridge at the Silverado Resort in Napa, California is dedicated to Larry Otto Miller the father of Johnny Miller.

A little encouragement can go a long way especially with dealing with youngsters.

Keep up the good work Champ!

With Love,

Coach K
