One of the keys to happiness is having a goal or future that involves something bigger than yourself. Many service people inherently have this and of course parents do also but may not realize while raising the little lovebirds. When we are younger we are focused on building our lives, buying, acquiring and as we mature this concept becomes secondary especially as we start our families.
When you decide to have children, you are deciding to nurture and care for them and help them become productive adults. And as we grow older, we understand that all the work acquiring life's goodies is meaningless without the love in our lives. Grandchildren really accentuate this point, when you hold the next generation in your arms you understand this clearly. From the children to the grandchildren they are the very definition of love and service.
The concept of How May I Serve has many applications. And for us to have a fulfilling life full of love and gratitude, we need to instill this idea of Service into our lives. What good are all the trinkets if we are without Love.
Love and Service are the road to happiness. How may We serve. God Bless.
With Love,
Coach K
